Biodynamics, Regeneration – an Eco Solution Feature

An introductory feature film that will introduce Biodynamic Farming and how it revitalizes soil.  We will also introduce the Idea of Regenerative Organic Certification and its 3 pillars. to the public.

This first feature will follow anchor Vintners Troon Vineyards in Applegate Oregon, its changeover of its vineyard using Biodynamic and Regeneration.  We will also follow Tablas Creek in Paso Robles who is an established Vineyard and leader in Regenerative Organic.

The Regenerative Organic Alliance is a new organization helping to train and educate farmers to farm organically using their three pillars.

We will also follow several regional Vintners working Bio dynamically for many years. These vintners cover the entire West Coast Wine region, so we can show how different climates all work toward the same goal with different variations.

These Farmers and Vintners will tell the stories of their journey, daily tasks, and problems they have and how they solve them. The idea is to make this process accessible and interesting, by showing people who are passionate about what they do, and are making a living doing what they love and making a difference in the health of people, animals and helping to restore the balance in the ecosystem to help alleviate Climate change.

This is inspired by the Biggest Little Farm Documentary with a much wider group of Wine Growers and Vintners.

The main audience will be geared toward the younger generation which will have to take up the mantel after Climate change begins to become the reality.  The driving catch phrase from the ROA is “Farm like the world Depends upon it”

We follow brand new farms and Vineyards on their process to Regenerative Organic Certification, as the progress along this path.

• Soil Health, beginning with the National Organic Program (NOP) standards and adding Carbon capture, building soil organic matter, conservation tillage, cover crops, promotion of biodiversity, and rotational grazing
• Animal Welfare, including the “five freedoms”: freedom from discomfort, freedom from fear & distress, freedom from hunger, freedom from pain, injury, or disease, and freedom to express normal behavior.
• Farmworker Fairness, including living wages, safe working conditions, long-term commitments, transparency & accountability, and collaborative leadership.

The final feature wraps up the 6-year journey with more stories and then shows the final results of creating these micro-ecosystems in the hope of changing the culture and showing how the system works across the globe.
